Boiler Not Working? Here’s What to Do First
If your boiler’s not working and you’ve got no heating or hot water, don’t panic — we’ve got some quick fixes below from CombiCert. Let’s get your home warm again.

Quick Fault-Finding Tips for When Your Boiler Stops Working
It can be frustrating when your boiler stops working, especially during colder months. Fortunately, some problems are easy to fix at home. Follow these basic checks to troubleshoot before you call in an engineer.
1. Check the Gas Supply
See if your gas hob or fire still works. If not, your gas supply may be interrupted. Contact your provider or check your emergency control valve.
2. Is the Power On?
Power cuts or tripped circuits can stop your boiler. Check your fuse box and ensure the boiler has power.
3. Low Boiler Pressure
If the pressure is under 1 bar, your boiler may shut down. Top up the pressure via the filling loop (consult your manual).
4. Frozen Condensate Pipe
In freezing weather, pipes may freeze and cause faults. Gently pour warm water over the pipe and then reset the boiler.
5. Try Resetting the Boiler
Most modern boilers have a reset button. Hold it for a few seconds (check the manual for your model), then wait to see if the boiler restarts.
